About This Site The Foundation for Human Development is a non-profit, financial literacy organization that provides educational materials, programs and resources. The Foundation publishes a monthly newsletter that focuses primarily on the needs of people in debt. After years of writing and storing content, the staff at the Foundation realized they had an incredible resource on their hands that could be shared with the public. With the help of their designers, the Main Street idea was born. Spending on Main Street was created to provide visitors with practical and easy to read personal financial advice. The site is filled with quick tips and links to resources that are easily searchable on a wide variety of financial literacy topics. The program is designed to be stand-alone or as a complement to a financial literacy educational curriculum.
